A note to all our writers submitting their work:
At AEDA, we understand firsthand the experience of having work rejected. While we try to publish everything we can, sometimes we feel a piece simply isn’t the right fit for us.
This is usually not a reflection of the quality of work, but may be due to our professional working commitments or other practical considerations.
Submissions are carefully reviewed, but publication decisions and reasons for non-publication remain at the editors’ discretion.
Please allow adequate time for replies to general inquiries. AEDA editors have full-time jobs and we do this purely for love of the literary game. As a consequence, submissions are reviewed and responded to on a rolling basis.
Requirements when submitting:
Currently accepting fiction pieces up to 4,000 words. For poetry, please submit up to three poems in a single document. Flash fiction is also encouraged.

Double-spaced, 12pt font. We exclusively accept PDF or .docx formats. Please include the title in the subject line and any trigger warnings.

Work must be original and unpublished; prior publication is not required. Unpublished writers are especially welcome. We do not permit the use of AI in our submissions.

By submitting, you grant AEDA first electronic publication rights; rights revert to the author upon publication. AEDA may use excerpts for promotion with full credit and reserves editorial discretion, including edits for clarity, consistency, and style with author approval.
